Mike Cane has joined the form as the capital advisory leader for the UK and Yen Chu Choo as the capital advisory leader for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, according to InsurTech Insights.

Aon’s capital advisory services focus on helping clients optimise their capital structures by addressing regulatory demands, rating considerations, and economic factors.

Through strategies such as structured reinsurance, capital relief covers, and legacy transactions, Aon aims to unlock capital and foster growth for its clients.

Additionally, the firm’s capital advisory unit collaborates closely with its global ratings advisory team to guide clients through ratings processes and improve their financial standings.

Cane, based in London, brings over two decades of experience in underwriting, analytics, reinsurance broking, and capital advisory to his new role.

His previous roles include Head of Capital Solutions at Gallagher Re, as well as senior positions at Willis Re Specialty, Lockton Re, Guy Carpenter, and Allianz. Cane will report directly to Kelly Superczynski, Aon’s global head of capital advisory.

George Attard, CEO of reinsurance solutions for APAC at Aon added, “Yen Chu’s appointment represents another step in the rapid development of our global Capital Advisory function. Asia Pacific is a dynamic region with evolving regulatory regimes and capital requirements and it is highly important that Capital Advisory is integrated into our delivery of value to clients.”
