Generali Hong Kong, a leading global insurance provider, has joined forces with YAS, a pioneering InsurTech firm, to enhance personalised insurance solutions through cutting-edge technology.

The collaboration aims to offer smarter, more adaptive coverage that evolves with modern consumers’ dynamic lifestyles, according to InsurTech Insights.

The partnership builds on the companies’ success in on-demand microinsurance, introducing real-time, dynamic insurance offerings that seamlessly integrate with customers’ daily activities.

By leveraging advanced underwriting technology, the two firms seek to create accessible and tailored insurance products that adjust to policyholders’ needs.

As part of this initiative, Generali Hong Kong and YAS launched a travel insurance solution in November 2024 within the AlipayHK ecosystem. The offering automatically adjusts travel coverage up to 20 times based on a traveller’s spending, with a cap of HK$100,000. The flexible model is designed to provide frequent travellers with more relevant and responsive protection.

With real-time risk assessment capabilities, Generali Hong Kong is strengthening its ability to align coverage with customer behaviours.

This marks a significant step forward in digital-first insurance solutions and highlights the growing role of InsurTech in reshaping the insurance landscape to improve accessibility for consumers.

Speaking about the new partnership, Generali Hong Kong chief business officer and intermediary management Windian Lai said, “This partnership with YAS allows us to integrate technologies such as GPS and AI into our personal lines underwriting. These tools enable us to deliver real-time solutions that adapt to customer lifestyles, ensuring a seamless and personalised experience.”

William Lee, co-founder of YAS Group, added, “Customers today demand more than traditional insurance; they want solutions that fit seamlessly into their lives. This partnership with Generali Hong Kong allows us to lead the industry into a new era of autonomous, always-on insurance solutions that resonate with the modern lifestyle.”
