TheGuarantors has acquired insurance verification technology developed by Covie, a Y Combinator-backed firm, to bolster its Zero-Gap Renters Insurance solution.
As part of the deal, Covie founder and CEO Trent Harvey has joined TheGuarantors as a strategic advisor. With this move, TheGuarantors becomes the only provider offering real-time monitoring of renters insurance, it claimed.
Traditional renters insurance compliance checks are typically only carried out at move-in, leaving a critical blind spot when policies are cancelled mid-term. According to TheGuarantors, up to 40% of renters cancel their policies before lease end, exposing property owners to potentially devastating uninsured losses. The Zero-Gap Renters Insurance solution addresses this by offering continuous, real-time insurance monitoring and direct integration with more than 90% of insurance providers.
