Cytora, a UK-based InsurTech company that specialises in digital risk processing, has announced a strategic partnership with LightBox to enhance insurers’ ability to digitise risk intake and make faster, more informed underwriting decisions.
The partnership enables Cytora users to seamlessly integrate LightBox’s extensive property data into their risk evaluation workflows.
The goal is to empower insurers with richer, real-time insights that support better decision-making, reduce operational friction, and improve underwriting accuracy in an increasingly complex risk landscape.
Cytora provides a digital platform that transforms how commercial insurers assess risk. It allows underwriters to digitise every incoming risk, enriching it with real-time data to support precise and timely decision-making.
Cytora’s platform recently underwent a major update, introducing agentic AI capabilities that significantly improve risk assessment explainability and performance.
LightBox offers an expansive data platform that aggregates property insights from over 10,000 sources across the US.
Its datasets include property characteristics, building footprints, boundary and neighbourhood information, and environmental data. This intelligence helps insurers gain deeper context around property risks, enabling better selection and pricing.
This latest integration is part of Cytora’s broader strategy to develop a robust data ecosystem for insurers. It follows a series of recent milestones, including a major collaboration with Chubb and the release of its next-generation underwriting platform earlier this year.
The partnership signals Cytora’s ongoing commitment to innovation and its mission to empower underwriters with advanced data tools. By combining LightBox’s property intelligence with Cytora’s digital risk processing capabilities, the companies aim to raise the bar for risk evaluation in the insurance industry.
Cytora head of North America Zaheer Hooda said, “At Cytora, we are committed to equipping insurers with high-quality data that enhances underwriting precision. Our collaboration with LightBox ensures that underwriters have access to cutting-edge property intelligence, helping them to proactively assess and mitigate risks with unparalleled accuracy. It is the next step on our mission to deliver innovation and best-in-class data to insurers to enhance risk evaluation and underwriting excellence, allowing them to stay ahead in the dynamic risk landscape.”
LightBox general manager of data and analytics Caroline Stoll commented, “In today’s challenging environment, access to accurate and complete information is more critical than ever. Our nationwide property data, combined with Cytora’s powerful risk processing capabilities, will help insurers navigate an ever-changing risk environment with agility and precision. Together, we are setting a new standard for property risk assessment in the insurance industry.”
Earlier this month, Cytora announced a partnership with Vāyuh, an AI-powered weather forecasting and climate analytics company.
The move was made to revolutionise property insurance underwriting by integrating advanced climate data with risk assessment tools.
It addresses growing industry pressure to modernise underwriting processes in response to the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters, such as wildfires, hurricanes, and severe storms.
By integrating Vāyuh’s high-resolution climate models into its platform, Cytora enables underwriters to access real-time risk scores and environmental analytics, supporting smarter underwriting decisions.
This partnership reflects Cytora’s commitment to enhancing climate intelligence within its digital risk processing platform.
