Chubb, a global insurance giant known for its wide-ranging commercial and personal property and casualty insurance offerings, has appointed Carla Orejas as head of major accounts and distribution for Continental Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa (CEMENA), effective 2 June 2025.
Operating across 54 countries and territories, Chubb delivers a broad suite of insurance products to clients ranging from multinationals to small businesses and individuals.
With a focus on underwriting discipline and customer service, Chubb continues to solidify its position in both developed and emerging markets.
In her newly appointed role, Orejas will collaborate closely with both regional and country-level leadership to strengthen and execute Chubb’s distribution strategy.
She will focus on fostering a high-performance sales culture across underwriting and distribution teams. Additionally, she will spearhead initiatives to drive growth in Chubb’s major accounts segment across the CEMENA region.
Orejas brings over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. She previously held several senior leadership roles at HDI Global, including most recently serving as chief commercial officer. Orejas began her career with Aon in Chile and has built a reputation for leading commercial strategies in international markets. Her academic background includes a degree in corporate public relations, communication, and marketing from UNIACC University in Chile.
Based in Paris, Orejas will report directly to Peter Kelaher, division president for Chubb Continental Europe, Middle East, and North Africa.
Chubb noted that Orejas is a multilingual professional fluent in six languages. Her appointment is seen as a strategic move to boost the company’s commercial and client engagement capabilities across multiple culturally diverse markets.
