Chubb reveals pair of leadership appointments within its Overseas General Insurance division

Tim Stapleton has been named chief underwriting officer, a newly created role, while Jason Neu has been appointed executive vice president of financial lines, succeeding Stapleton.

Chubb, known for its extensive range of insurance products across commercial and personal property, casualty, and supplemental health sectors, provides solutions for clients worldwide.

With exceptional financial strength and a strong local presence, Chubb stands out as a trusted name in the industry.

In his new role, Stapleton will lead the development and execution of underwriting operations for COG.

His responsibilities include improving underwriting standards, operations, and audit strategies. Stapleton will report directly to Paul McNamee, executive vice president, Chubb Group president, Overseas General Insurance.

Jason Neu, who previously served as executive vice president of financial lines at Westchester, Chubb’s North American wholesale subsidiary, will now oversee Chubb’s international financial lines division.

His remit will include directors’ and officers’ liability, financial institutions, and errors and omissions insurance.

Stapleton joined Chubb in 2015, serving as product head for cyber and technology industry practices. Before his tenure at Chubb, he held leadership roles at Zurich Insurance and American International Group.

Neu has been with Chubb since 2004, beginning as a financial lines underwriter. His career trajectory includes senior positions such as senior vice president and financial lines manager for Chubb Small Commercial and national financial lines manager for Australia & New Zealand.

Paul McNamee commented on the appointments, stating: “These appointments further strengthen our ability to meet clients’ needs with greater operational excellence. Tim and Jason’s leadership in underwriting operations will provide greater visibility into our progress and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.”
