Encova Insurance has announced the appointment of Ramu Lingala as Executive Vice‑President and Chief Information Officer.
Lingala succeeds Tony Laska, who declared last year his intention to retire at the end of 2025.
He joined Encova in February to familiarise himself with the company’s operations and culture, and officially assumed his new responsibilities on 1 May. Laska will remain on hand in an advisory capacity until 31 December.
“I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Tony on a distinguished career and express our gratitude for his unparalleled contributions to BrickStreet, Motorists and now Encova,” said TJ Obrokta Jr, President and CEO of Encova. “I vividly recall recruiting him many years ago and witnessing the transformative effect he had in BrickStreet’s early days.
“At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Ramu to our senior leadership team,” Obrokta added. “Under his IT stewardship, we will advance our systems and bolster our capabilities as we strive to be the carrier of choice for our agents and policyholders.”
As CIO, Lingala will oversee all technology teams to ensure seamless system performance for Encova’s employees, clients and partners; work closely with business units to align IT initiatives with the enterprise’s strategic objectives; and partner with fellow technology leaders to validate roadmaps and drive delivery.
Lingala brings 25 years of experience as an IT executive, most recently serving as Vice‑President of Business Lines Technology at Liberty Mutual. Throughout his career, he has led major transformation programmes and redesigned IT operating models to deliver significant, lasting value.
