CLARA Analytics launches IaaS to transform insurance claims

Community Health Options, a Maine-based nonprofit health insurer, has selected Gradient AI to help improve its risk management processes for group health clients.

CLARA Analytics, a leading provider of AI-driven solutions for insurance claims optimisation, has launched its new Intelligence-as-a-Service (IaaS) product designed to help insurers gain greater control over claims management.

The launch comes as claims executives continue to grapple with persistent challenges including loss and expense accuracy, social inflation, and the adequacy of reserving.

Insurers and self-insured organisations face increasing pressure to make faster, more informed decisions, and CLARA’s new platform is designed to address these concerns.

The newly launched CLARA IaaS leverages the company’s extensive claims AI dataset, which is the largest of its kind in the industry, covering bodily injury cases across workers’ compensation, auto liability, and general liability. Drawing on millions of records spanning more than a decade, the platform provides insurers with granular and accurate benchmarking insights that can transform claims operations.

CLARA IaaS is highly configurable and can be tailored to meet business-specific needs.

The solution factors in variables such as state-specific legal and compliance rules, litigation environments, occupational hazards, damage attributes, and geographic details. Its benchmarking tools deliver “apples-to-apples” comparisons to give organisations a precise view of their performance against peers.

Among its key features are industry benchmarking based on contributory databases, expert-curated reports, consistent KPI tracking, and customisable analytics and visualisations. These capabilities allow insurers to identify gaps in reserving, settlement trends, and litigation risk while boosting long-term profitability.

The product integrates directly with CLARA’s existing solutions, enabling insurers to derive immediate value from its deployment. Early testing has demonstrated that CLARA IaaS can help organisations determine whether they are over- or under-reserving, thereby influencing balance sheet optimisation and shareholder value creation.

“The breadth and depth of our dataset is unmatched. When carriers want to know what’s truly happening in their business and where they stand in the market, there’s no better source of truth,” CLARA Analytics CEO Heather H. Wilson said. “CLARA IaaS gives insurers insights they’ve never had before — the ability to clearly see where they stand, anticipate challenges, and make decisions with confidence.”

“This isn’t just an improvement to claims management; it’s a shift toward proactive, strategic leadership,” Wilson added. “With CLARA IaaS, insurers finally have the clarity and control they need to drive better outcomes.”
