Erie Strategic Ventures, the venture capital arm of Erie Insurance, has announced investments in two technology-driven startups, Atomic and Feathery.
The fund, launched in 2022, is dedicated to advancing innovation across the personal and commercial insurance sectors, while also exploring opportunities in adjacent financial technology areas.
While the exact investment amount was not disclosed, the backing of Atomic and Feathery aligns with Erie Strategic Ventures’ mission to support companies shaping the future of insurance and financial services. The fund works in collaboration with Cerity Partners Ventures, which helps manage and operate its portfolio of investments.
Atomic provides a full-stack brokerage and wealth management platform designed specifically for financial institutions. As a licensed registered investment adviser (RIA) and broker-dealer, Atomic enables credit unions and insurance carriers to integrate embedded financial solutions directly into their platforms, helping them expand their service offerings.
Feathery, meanwhile, offers an AI-powered data intake platform tailored to the needs of financial institutions. Its technology streamlines the processing of data and documents from multiple sources, automating workflows that are often manual and time-consuming. These include insurance underwriting submissions, policy checking, proposal generation, and client onboarding for RIAs and broker-dealers.
Erie Insurance senior vice president for next level innovation Keith Kennedy said, “We are excited to partner with Atomic and Feathery. Erie Insurance is a relationship company, and we believe that these two relationships create numerous opportunities for mutual benefit.”
