mea Platform, a leading provider of AI-driven solutions for the (re)insurance industry, has launched a suite of agentic AI products designed to unlock value trapped inside (re)insurance operating expenses.
The suite, known as mea Operations, expands on the firm’s existing AI capabilities, automating key operational workflows for (re)insurance companies and brokers.
It covers pre-bind underwriting, claims processing, post-bind operations, policy issuance, settlements, and finance services, allowing organisations to streamline every major operational cost centre.
This comes as the company seeks to tackle the $2tn global annual cost burden in insurance operations.
Operating costs consume up to 14 points of every combined ratio for carriers and nearly half of total expenses for brokers. mea Operations aims to reduce these costs by up to 50 percent, directly enhancing combined ratios and profitability for carriers and brokers alike.
mea Platform has already demonstrated success with its Intelligent Underwriting products, which help underwriters write more than 40 percent additional in-appetite business with no extra effort.
This latest product package includes several modules:
-
Underwriting Operations – Automates intake, triage, rating, insights, quote-to-bind, endorsements, renewals, and issuance, freeing underwriters to focus on risk assessment and business growth.
-
Claims Operations – Automates first notice through settlement, reducing cycle times and friction while improving customer satisfaction.
-
Finance Operations – Automates premium bookings, commission and reinsurance entries, and reconciliations for faster closes and greater financial control.
-
Broking Operations – Automates enquiry intake, exposure modelling, market submissions, and digital placement, driving higher conversion ratios through faster, targeted quotes.
mea Operations operates on mea’s Insurance Knowledge Graph, a modular platform compatible with both mea AI and public large language models (LLMs).
The solution allows clients to retain existing tools and systems while adding a unified insurance intelligence layer that delivers measurable results.
Leading carriers such as The Hartford, Markel, AXIS, CNA, and SCOR are already implementing mea’s solutions to improve decision cycles, reduce handling times, and enhance operational ratios. Early adopters report tangible bottom-line benefits and efficiency gains.
“mea Operations delivers the ability to finally use AI products to re-engineer how (re)insurance carriers and brokers think about their operating costs and unlock an entirely new form of value creation,” said Martin Henley, CEO of mea Platform. “We’ve already seen the impact with our clients, and we know they want to do more with what we’ve built. Expanding into all aspects of industry workflows has been our planned next step and we’re excited to see the results. No other tool offers this level of insurance knowledge or the ability to automate nearly any manual process.”
“The ultimate benefit of this industry AI transformation is to the consumer and lower cost insurance products,” said Mike McGavick, Non-Executive Board Chairman of mea Platform. “But to make that happen, the industry must finally harness the data locked inside systems, and that’s exactly what mea enables. What Martin and the team are launching with mea Operations is how the promise of AI becomes real for our industry.”
