Roots brings AI document indexing to Guidewire ClaimCenter

Roots, an InsurTech company specialising in artificial intelligence solutions for insurance operations, has announced that its newly validated Accelerator is now available to Guidewire ClaimCenter users on Guidewire Cloud through the Guidewire Marketplace.

Roots, an InsurTech company specialising in artificial intelligence solutions for insurance operations, has announced that its newly validated Accelerator is now available to Guidewire ClaimCenter users on Guidewire Cloud through the Guidewire Marketplace.

The launch of the new Accelerator is driven by a persistent challenge facing insurers: the heavy operational burden of manual document handling within claims teams, according to FF News.

Claims adjusters are often required to spend significant time sorting, classifying and entering data from incoming documents, creating bottlenecks that slow down claims resolution and divert attention away from policyholders at critical moments.

Roots developed the Accelerator to address this inefficiency and unlock capacity across claims operations.

The firm focuses on building AI-powered agents designed specifically for insurance use cases, with an emphasis on claims processing, automation and straight-through workflows.

The company positions its technology as a way for insurers to modernise legacy processes without disrupting existing core systems, helping claims teams work more efficiently while improving service quality and operational performance.

The Roots Accelerator, described as a Document Indexing AI Agent, is designed to automate document processing directly within Guidewire ClaimCenter.

The AI agent continuously monitors multiple intake channels, automatically classifies more than 70 different document types with accuracy levels exceeding 98%, and extracts relevant data straight into ClaimCenter. By embedding this capability within the claims workflow, insurers can significantly reduce manual intervention and accelerate end-to-end claims handling.

Beyond classification and data extraction, the product supports high levels of straight-through processing. This allows claims teams to shorten handling times, eliminate duplicate document reviews and reduce reliance on third-party processing providers. As a result, insurers can lower operational costs while delivering faster claim payments and more consistent customer experiences.

The Accelerator is available via the Guidewire Marketplace and has been validated for use on Guidewire Cloud, enabling insurers already using ClaimCenter to deploy the solution quickly within their existing infrastructure.

According to Roots, this approach is intended to speed up time-to-value and minimise implementation complexity for carriers looking to modernise claims operations.

“Every day claims adjusters spend handling routine document classification is a day they’re not serving policyholders in their time of need,” said Chaz Perera, co-founder and CEO of Roots. “Our Document Indexing AI Agent, powered by InsurGPT™, changes that equation dramatically. By automating up to 90% of document processing with high levels of accuracy, we’re giving claims teams their time back to focus on what matters: faster decisions, better outcomes, and superior customer experiences. Our integration with ClaimCenter means insurers can quickly deploy this capability within their existing infrastructure, accelerating time-to-value across their entire claims operation.”

“Congratulations to Roots on the release of its Accelerator for Document Indexing AI Agent,” said Will Murphy, vice president, technology alliances and marketplace for Guidewire. “Efficient claims document processing is critical for insurers to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Roots’ AI-powered Accelerator can help users achieve faster, more accurate document handling, leading to improved operational excellence and claims outcomes.”
