Verisk Analytics, a provider of data and analytics for the insurance sector, has partnered with Anthropic to embed its analytics capabilities into Claude models via Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors.

The move is set to enable underwriters and claims professionals to access data through natural language within enterprise AI environments, according to InsurTech Insights.

The integration is designed to streamline workflows by allowing users to interact directly with Verisk’s datasets inside AI systems, removing the need to switch between multiple platforms. This approach aims to improve efficiency across underwriting and claims functions while supporting faster, data-driven decision-making.

Verisk provides analytics, risk modelling and data solutions to insurers, supporting pricing, underwriting and claims processes. Its datasets, including those from Insurance Services Office, are widely used across the industry to inform risk assessment and regulatory filings.

Anthropic develops AI models such as Claude, designed for enterprise use with a focus on safety, transparency and reliability. Through MCP connectors, its models can integrate external data sources, enabling conversational access to structured information within secure environments.

Initial use cases include underwriting intelligence, giving professionals conversational access to loss cost trends and filing signals, and XactRestore, which enables natural language queries on property repair pricing and estimating data used in claims workflows.

The solution has been built to operate within governed enterprise environments, maintaining regulatory compliance, existing controls and human oversight. Verisk emphasised that accountability remains with professionals, with AI acting as a tool to enhance, rather than replace, decision-making.

The move reflects growing demand for AI-driven interfaces in insurance, where firms are seeking to combine advanced analytics with more intuitive ways of accessing data. By embedding its capabilities directly into AI models, Verisk is positioning its platform at the centre of next-generation insurance workflows.

“Trust is the foundation of insurance, and that doesn’t change as new technologies emerge. What is changing is how professionals expect to interact with information. Our role is to bring AI into insurance in a way that reflects the realities of the industry – where data must be authoritative, decisions must be explainable, and accountability remains with people. This collaboration with Anthropic applies a conversational interface to Verisk’s governed analytics so professionals can work more efficiently, while upholding the industry’s high standards.” Verisk Analytics president and CEO Lee Shavel said.
