OCTO, a global telematics and analytics specialist, has partnered with Sedgwick, a leading provider of claims management solutions, to integrate telematics data with claims services and reshape how insurers handle motor and mobility-related claims.

The partnership is aimed at improving efficiency and customer experience by combining real-time driving data with claims workflows, according to FF News.

By linking telematics insights directly to claims handling, the companies seek to reduce processing times, improve accuracy and lower overall costs.

OCTO provides advanced telematics technology, analysing driving behaviour and vehicle data to support insurers, fleet operators and mobility providers. Its platform processes large-scale datasets to generate insights on risk, safety and accident events.

Sedgwick operates globally as a claims and risk management specialist, offering third-party administration (TPA) services across multiple insurance lines. The company focuses on streamlining claims processes and delivering consistent outcomes for insurers and policyholders.

Through the collaboration, telematics data will be used to enhance crash detection, claims intake and liability assessment. The integration is also expected to support fraud detection, improve driver safety through targeted alerts and reduce the overall lifecycle cost of claims.

The solution is designed to be telematics-agnostic, allowing data ingestion from connected vehicles, fleet systems or OCTO’s own sensors. This flexibility enables insurers and mobility providers to adopt the solution without overhauling existing infrastructure, while benefiting from scalable data integration.

The partnership also aligns with broader industry trends towards data-driven insurance models, where real-time insights are increasingly used to automate claims and improve decision-making. OCTO noted that its dataset includes information from more than 20 million drivers, covering over 610 billion kilometres of driving and more than 13 million recorded crashes.

“This partnership with Sedgwick marks a significant step toward a more transparent, efficient, and sustainable claims management model,” OCTO chief business development officer Pedro Bernardo Santos said.

“Leaders across sectors, including in motor, fleet, and transportation, will see immediate value from this partnership,” Sedgwick head of international business development James Norman said. “Our expertise at Sedgwick, combined with OCTO’s telematics capabilities, will further validate our commitment to continuous innovation and market leadership.”
