MoneySuperMarket expands ChatGPT app with energy deals

MoneySuperMarket has added energy comparison services to its app on ChatGPT, allowing users to search for and compare tariffs directly through the AI platform.

The UK price comparison platform said customers can now compare energy deals through natural language conversations within the ChatGPT interface, alongside existing insurance, banking and broadband comparison services.

The app, which was launched last month, searches across hundreds of insurers, lenders and energy providers, enabling users to compare products and access financial guidance without leaving ChatGPT.

MoneySuperMarket already supports insurance re-quotes for car, van, home and pet cover, while users can also compare loans, credit cards, current accounts, savings accounts and broadband packages through the app.

The expansion into energy switching comes as UK households face expectations of rising energy prices in the coming months, increasing pressure on consumers to review tariffs and reduce household costs.

Customers can access the service by searching for MoneySuperMarket within ChatGPT’s app directory and connecting the app to conversations. Users can then request energy quotes, compare financial products or access guidance through prompts inside the chat interface.

MoneySuperMarket said the app is designed to make comparison services quicker, more personalised and easier to access through conversational AI.

The platform also provides access to financial guides covering topics including household bills, savings and personal finance management.

MONY Group chief technology and data officer Matt Cresswell said, “Adding energy to MoneySuperMarket’s ChatGPT app gives households another practical way to stay on top of rising costs and see whether they could be paying less.

“People can now compare energy deals as part of a wider conversation about their finances, using the same trusted comparison service whether they’re an existing customer or completely new to MoneySuperMarket.”

According to the company, half of customers switching energy through MoneySuperMarket in March 2026 saved an average of £278. Eligible customers switching providers can also receive a £10 SuperSaveClub reward.
