US broker Interactive Brokers has integrated its trading infrastructure directly into Claude through a certified connector, enabling users to manage portfolios and execute trading-related actions using natural language across more than 170 global markets.
The integration allows clients to link existing accounts in minutes via the Claude connector marketplace, without creating new brokerage accounts or sharing API credentials.
The system uses secure API-based access designed to keep authentication within Interactive Brokers’ environment.
Once connected, users can query portfolio positions, analyse exposures, review trade history and generate structured trading instructions. These are then routed into a dedicated approval layer within Interactive Brokers’ platforms, where users must confirm any order before execution, maintaining a human-in-the-loop control model.
At launch, the functionality supports equities and ETFs, including market and limit orders, with additional asset classes expected to follow shortly. The firm also confirmed that integrations with other major AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok, are currently in certification.
“Interactive Brokers has used technology for over four decades to help investors make more informed decisions and interact more efficiently with markets. Investors are increasingly using artificial intelligence to research markets, analyse information and generate ideas. We believe the next logical step is to allow clients to securely connect AI tools directly to their brokerage accounts — whether they want a simple conversational interface, deeper portfolio analysis or the ability to develop and execute sophisticated trading strategies,” Milan Galik, CEO
Alongside the new connector, Interactive Brokers said the integration complements its existing AI suite, which includes natural language stock screeners, thematic investing tools, portfolio analysis features and AI-driven news summarisation across global markets.
