Cytora, a digital risk processing platform for commercial insurers, has partnered with Geoskop to integrate climate intelligence capabilities into its underwriting platform.
The partnership will see Geoskop’s Sustax climate intelligence datasets and modelling capabilities embedded within the Cytora platform, giving commercial insurers direct access to climate risk data as part of their underwriting workflows.
The companies said the integration is designed to help insurers respond to growing climate-related risks and increasingly stringent reporting requirements.
Through the collaboration, insurers using Cytora will be able to automatically enrich risk submissions with predictive physical climate risk data. The firms said this will allow underwriters to assess risks more accurately and price policies with greater confidence at a time when climate volatility continues to influence commercial property insurance costs.
The integration also provides access to datasets that support a range of sustainability and regulatory reporting frameworks, including the EU Taxonomy, IFRS-S2, TCFD and CSRD. According to the companies, insurers will be able to evaluate climate and ESG risks across individual submissions and broader portfolios through a single workflow.
The agreement marks the latest addition to Cytora’s growing ecosystem of data and technology partners. The company said it is continuing to expand the range of external data sources available through its platform as it seeks to create a comprehensive risk assessment environment for insurers.
The announcement follows a period of growth for Cytora, including a collaboration with Chubb and ongoing enhancements to its platform. Cytora has increasingly focused on applying agentic AI to underwriting and risk assessment processes, with an emphasis on improving both performance and explainability.
Cytora COO Juan de Castro said: “Physical risk and ESG intelligence are increasingly becoming critical components in commercial insurance underwriting. Through our partnership with Geoskop, we’re making it easier for insurers to embed the latest Sustax insights directly into their workflows, empowering smarter and faster decisions with access to the most advanced climate data available”.
Geoskop founder and CEO Joan Saladich Cubero said: “This partnership with Cytora will give insurers the clarity and foresight needed to make informed, strategic, and sustainable underwriting decisions. The past is no longer representative of the future. As commercial insurers are being forced to assume a much heavier share of physical risk and regulation shifts towards quantitative ESG reporting, the need for accurate and transparent climate has never been greater”.
