Klaimee raises $5.5m for AI agent liability cover

Klaimee, a Y Combinator-backed InsurTech offering insurance-backed performance warranties for AI agents, has secured $5.5m in seed funding.

The round was led by FundersClub, with participation from ex/ante, Pioneer Fund, Multimodal Ventures, Kima Ventures, Rebel Fund, Robinhood Ventures, Y Combinator and a group of angel investors.

The company was founded to answer a question it believes the market cannot currently address, who bears the cost when an autonomous AI agent makes a mistake. According to the firm, AI agents have moved beyond acting as copilots and now carry out actions, advise customers, process sensitive information and sit within enterprise workflows, meaning their failure modes differ from those of conventional software.

Klaimee argues that legacy Technology E&O and Cyber policies are unsuited to this shift, having been designed around deterministic software, data breaches and services delivered by humans. Its view is that AI agents require cover created specifically for them.

Klaimee certifies and insures autonomous AI agents, auditing each agent before backing it with liability coverage tailored to AI, and supporting businesses in understanding and reducing AI-related risk.
