Octave taps Cytora technology for new MGA launches

Cytora, an AI-powered risk processing platform for commercial insurers, has entered a partnership with Octave Specialty Group, a specialty insurance platform that builds, buys and scales managing general agencies (MGAs), to support the development of new MGA businesses.

Under the agreement, Octave will leverage Cytora’s configurable, AI-driven risk processing and workflow automation capabilities to provide operational infrastructure for new MGA launches. The collaboration is designed to support faster time-to-market through pre-configured digital insurance stacks while scaling risk processing across Octave’s portfolio.

Cytora’s platform will enable Octave to digitise incoming risks, enrich submissions with external data sources, evaluate information against underwriting rules including appetite and priority criteria, and route risks to downstream systems for automated or manual underwriting.

The partnership highlights the growing role of AI-driven risk processing within specialty insurance, as MGA platforms look to build scalable technology infrastructure to support underwriting operations.

Cytora enables commercial insurers to process risks with greater efficiency and accuracy through risk digitisation, external data enrichment, configurable decision rules and workflow automation.

Octave Specialty Group builds, buys and scales niche insurance distribution and underwriting businesses, with a focus on operational excellence, disciplined growth and innovation across its specialty insurance portfolio.

Octave chief information officer Randy Paez said, “Data is a foundational element of specialty insurance, and coupling it with AI is changing how we build and scale MGAs. Cytora gives us the front end of the AI-driven stack that turns unstructured submissions into decision-ready risk, compresses time-to-market for every MGA we launch, and enables us to further scale our operations.”

Cytora chief commercial officer Juan de Castro added, “Octave is one of the industry leaders in embracing new technology to transform its business operations and enhance the experience of its partners and customers. We are delighted to be part of this journey and look forward to supporting Octave as it continues to develop one of the world’s most advanced MGA ecosystems.”
