InsurTech Corridor, a transatlantic initiative built to connect scaling UK technology firms with the US insurance and financial services sector, has confirmed a three-city UK tour, with free events and one-to-one meetings running from 5th October.
The visit will open in Leeds on Monday 5th October, before moving to Edinburgh for engagements on 6th and 7th October, and closing in Manchester on 8th and 9th October.
The trip forms part of a wider push to link emerging UK businesses with opportunities in Hartford, Connecticut, the hub of the sizeable US insurance market. A five-person delegation is making the trip, headed by MetroHartford Alliance chief business investment officer Gene Goddard, alongside Mike Hendy, a former FinTech executive who now serves as senior trade officer at the British Consulate in Boston, where he supports UK firms working across insurance, financial services, climate and regulatory sectors.
Established in 2022 through a partnership between the UK and the state of Connecticut, InsurTech Corridor exists to help growing British InsurTech, FinTech, climatetech and legaltech companies establish themselves within the American insurance ecosystem. Since its launch, the initiative said it has supported more than 20 UK-based businesses in gaining a foothold in the US market.
Companies wanting to engage with the delegation can do so across three scheduled events: the University of Leeds Nexus innovation hub on 5th October, the Scottish Insurtech Summit and Awards at Edinburgh’s EICC on 7th October, and Venture Café in Manchester on 8th October.

Many UK tech firms have huge opportunities in the US and within the insurance market in particular, which is concentrated in the city of Hartford.”
Mike Hendy added, “There’s a really vibrant tech community right across the north of England and Scotland, and we are keen to be accessible to as many firms and founders as possible. Whether you are a pure-play insurtech, or a wider fintech, climate tech or legaltech, if you have an opportunity within the US market, especially in the huge insurance market, we want to see if we can help you make faster progress in the market over there.”
