Insurance technology development could become significantly cheaper as Peak3 looks to apply AI across the entire software delivery process rather than individual coding tasks.
The Singapore-based InsurTech has launched Graphene Harness, an AI-driven delivery lifecycle (AI-DLC) that brings together AI capabilities spanning business analysis, architecture, engineering, testing, migration, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
Peak3 claims the platform is already reducing the cost and time associated with insurance technology development by 50%. It is targeting an 80% reduction over the next 18 to 36 months. The company has designed Graphene Harness around the different roles involved in delivering insurance technology. Business analysts, architects, engineers, testers and reviewers are represented by AI counterparts, which work together within a governed environment.
Peak3 is already using the system to develop and maintain its own technology, while selected implementation partners are now gaining access. The company plans to extend the platform to clients over the next six to 12 months.
The launch comes alongside Graphene v4, the latest release of Peak3’s AI-native insurance core platform. The new version introduces enhanced agent orchestration and runtime capabilities, updated agent interfaces and a marketplace containing pre-built AI agents.
The combination is intended to give insurers a way to build, deploy and oversee AI across life, health and P&C operations. Among the available agents are tools for medical underwriting, conversational first notice of loss (FNOL), intelligent document processing and fraud, waste and abuse detection within claims.
The agents can also make changes to insurance products, calculations and rules using natural-language instructions and unstructured documents. Peak3 said this can bring configuration work that previously took days down to hours, or in some cases minutes.
Governance features including access management, attribution and detailed logging are built into the platform, allowing insurers to control agent permissions and track activity. Peak3 said customers using Graphene Harness are currently achieving a 50% reduction in end-to-end costs associated with new feature development and core system implementation. The company expects those savings to reach as much as 80% as its AI-DLC develops.
