Contour Underwriting has chosen KYND, a cyber risk analytics specialist, to support the worldwide rollout of its new cyber insurance proposition, following a competitive selection process.
Under the agreement, KYND’s cyber risk intelligence will be built into Contour’s underwriting workflow from the very beginning. This will give the firm’s newly formed cyber team real-time visibility of an organisation’s exposure when reviewing a submission, and the ability to keep monitoring how that risk shifts after a policy has been written.
Beyond the underwriting stage, the data will also strengthen Contour’s work with brokers and the businesses they represent. Individual companies can be evaluated using KYND’s proprietary live risk intelligence, with the platform’s speed and precision helping to surface useful insight on new and complicated threats as they develop.
KYND provides cyber risk analytics. According to its co-founder, the company sees small and medium-sized enterprises as a major growth area for cyber insurers, despite such firms having historically been hard to evaluate. KYND will support Contour as it develops its cyber business in the UK and in other markets.
Contour underwriting director, cyber Matt Waller said, “We have ambitious plans for our global cyber proposition and technology is a key component of our strategy. We are pleased to partner with KYND as our cyber risk analytics provider.”
KYND co-founder Melanie Hayes said, “SMEs present a significant opportunity for the cyber insurance market, but have traditionally been difficult to assess. To serve this market effectively, the industry must make cyber risk clearer and easier to address.
“What makes this partnership particularly exciting is the opportunity to work with Contour’s team from day one. We’re delighted they have chosen KYND and look forward to supporting the team as they build their cyber business in the UK and internationally.”
