Zelis, a leading provider of healthcare technology solutions, has expanded its Zelis Advanced Payment Platform (ZAPP) into the property and casualty (P&C) insurance market through a strategic partnership with Duck Creek Technologies.

By integrating ZAPP into Duck Creek’s platform, Zelis aims to simplify payment operations, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall experience for insurers, providers, and policyholders.

The move is driven by the growing demand for modern, digital payment solutions in the P&C insurance space. Insurers are under increasing pressure to replace outdated, paper-based systems and streamline complex disbursement workflows.

The ZAPP platform serves as a digital connective layer for scalable payment orchestration.

Through its integration with Duck Creek’s Payment Marketplace and Orchestrator, ZAPP enables P&C carriers to digitise claims and premium payments. This offers faster, more flexible, and secure payment delivery, tailored to meet the specific needs of the P&C sector.

ZAPP’s inclusion within the Duck Creek Payments Marketplace significantly reduces integration time—from traditional periods of 9–18 months to just 1–2 weeks. It also offers insurers greater control and visibility over their payment processes, while supporting multiple payment methods and operating within existing IT infrastructures.

This collaboration reinforces Zelis’ broader mission to simplify complex payment ecosystems across healthcare and insurance, ensuring greater connectivity and innovation in digital claims management.

Zelis president of payments optimisation Yusuf Qasim said, “By teaming up with Duck Creek, we’re making it easier for property and casualty insurers to handle claims and premium payments more efficiently. This partnership is a testament to our growing commitment to supporting the P&C industry in a deeper way. We’re combining our experience in simplifying complex payments with Duck Creek’s trusted insurance platform, so insurers can enhance how they work—without having to overhaul everything they already rely on.”

Duck Creek Technologies chief payments officer Allan Lacoste said, “Partnering with Zelis is a pivotal step in our mission to empower carriers with agile, end-to-end core insurance solutions. By integrating ZAPP into Duck Creek Orchestrator and Payment Marketplace we’re giving customers access to a wider range of payment methods and greater control over their payment processes while enabling faster implementation timelines.”
