Cytora embeds open-source intelligence to reduce claims leakage

Cytora has entered a new partnership with Pilotbird as it looks to strengthen fraud detection and claims accuracy for commercial and property and casualty insurers.

Through the agreement, insurers using Cytora’s platform will be able to integrate Pilotbird’s insights directly into their existing claims workflows. Pilotbird analyses open-source intelligence, including publicly available data, to provide additional context that supports more accurate claim assessments.

This intelligence will be embedded into Cytora’s digitised claims submission process, spanning first notification of loss (FNOL) and post-FNOL intake, allowing insurers to enrich claims data from the earliest stages.

The integration is designed to give insurers immediate access to relevant evidence as claims are evaluated. By combining digitised intake with lifestyle and social data, carriers can make more informed decisions about payouts, identify potentially ineligible claims earlier in the process and flag cases that require deeper investigation. As a result, insurers can accelerate straightforward claims while ensuring more complex or higher-risk cases receive the appropriate level of scrutiny.

Cytora COO Juan de Castro said: “Integrating predictive fraud data is crucial for automating complex workflows, particularly in the claims space. Our partnership with Pilotbird embeds cutting-edge lifestyle analytics directly into our claims digitization workflow, allowing carriers to dramatically improve their detection of ineligible claims, reduce false positives, and ensure adjuster resources are focused only on the most impactful cases. This immediate access to open-source evidence is key to driving efficiency and delivering improved loss ratios across products like Workers’ Compensation and Auto Claim.”

Pilotbird CEO Evgeny Aleksandrov said: “Our partnership with Cytora is vital for embedding sophisticated claims intelligence directly into the digital claims lifecycle. Pilotbird’s open-source intelligence platform delivers ~14x-56x ROI by improving payout accuracy, cycle time and loss control. Pilotbird’s integration with Cytora’s AI-powered workflow provides commercial insurers rapid claims intake, evidence-based triage, and improved adjusters productivity for Workers’ Compensation and Auto Claims “
