UNIQA taps InsurTech bsurance for embedded insurance push

Austrian InsurTech UNIQA has partnered with bsurance to launch an embedded insurance platform domestically.

The collaboration will enable UNIQA to integrate insurance products directly into digital platforms, including e-commerce sites, retail environments and travel booking services.

The move is aimed at allowing customers to purchase insurance at the point of need, such as during online shopping or booking trips.

Peter Humer, Member of the Management Board for Customer & Market Austria at UNIQA, said, “Our partnership with bsurance enables us to offer insurance solutions exactly where they are needed — whether during online shopping, booking a trip, or purchasing electronic devices.

“Out of the nine providers we evaluated, bsurance’s technology impressed us the most. This partnership is an important step towards further improving the customer journey and strengthening our position as an innovation-driven company.”

The platform will support products such as device protection, travel insurance and extended warranties, embedded directly within customer purchase journeys.

Emmanuel Chéret, CEO of bsurance, said, “We are very pleased to expand and deepen our collaboration with UNIQA Insurance Group AG. UNIQA’s deep understanding of Austrian consumers’ insurance needs, combined with bsurance’s digital capabilities, will allow us to embed tailored insurance products directly into everyday transactions.

“Together, we are creating a smart and user-friendly way to provide customers with the protection they need.”

The initial rollout will focus on the Austrian market, with plans to offer a broad range of embedded insurance solutions.

The partnership reflects a growing shift toward embedded insurance models, where coverage is integrated seamlessly into digital transactions to improve accessibility and customer experience.
