BriteCore unveils enterprise AI platform for insurers

BriteCore has launched an enterprise AI strategy featuring eight embedded AI copilots and a new infrastructure layer designed to connect insurer-built and third-party AI agents directly into insurance operations.

The property and casualty insurance core systems provider said the launch marks the first major phase of a broader strategy focused on embedding AI capabilities directly into underwriting, claims, billing and servicing workflows, according to InsurTech Insights.

At the centre of the rollout are eight AI copilots integrated into the BriteCore Platform, alongside a secure Model Context Protocol (MCP) service layer that enables insurers to deploy and govern AI agents within carrier-controlled environments.

BriteCore said the strategy is built around three areas: embedded copilots and multi-agent systems, an open AI ecosystem and an “agentic core” architecture aimed at automating routine insurance processes while maintaining governance and operational oversight.

The company believes the approach differs from many AI deployments across insurance, where generative AI tools are often layered onto legacy systems rather than integrated into operational infrastructure.

The newly launched copilots are designed to reduce manual workloads across multiple stages of the insurance lifecycle.

Among the tools introduced is the Submission Intake & Readiness Copilot, which processes unstructured submissions, extracts data and assesses completeness before underwriting review. BriteCore said the capability can reduce manual intake work by up to 80% to 90%.

Other copilots include tools for policy summaries, claims summaries, invoice explanations, document generation, reporting, rules management and rating adjustments.

The company said the release represents the first stage of a longer-term roadmap focused on orchestrated multi-agent insurance workflows.

BriteCore’s MCP infrastructure layer also provides authentication, auditability, access controls, compliance monitoring and human governance for AI interactions across policy, billing, claims and workflow systems.

The company is additionally opening the architecture to insurers and ecosystem partners, allowing them to develop and deploy their own AI agents using the same infrastructure as BriteCore’s native copilots.

Future development plans include expanding AI orchestration into renewals, premium-to-cash operations, customer servicing and broader operational governance.

BriteCore CEO Ray Villeneuve said, “Most AI solutions in insurance today are bolted on top of legacy core systems as loosely coupled tools.

“Our strategy is different. We embed AI directly into the operational core through a governed, API-first architecture, so agents and emerging multi-agent systems can work securely inside the BriteCore Platform—where the actual work happens.”

Celent head of North America insurance Karlyn Carnahan said, “Insurers are increasingly recognizing that long-term AI value comes from embedding intelligence into operational workflows, not simply layering generative AI on top of legacy systems.

“BriteCore’s combination of embedded copilots, governed MCP infrastructure, and an open agentic architecture represents an important evolution in how modern core platforms can support secure, scalable AI innovation across the insurance lifecycle.”

Great Bay Insurance Group president and CEO Tim Byrne said, “We’ve been extremely impressed with BriteCore’s Report Copilot and the broader direction of their AI strategy.

“The ability to generate insights and summaries instantly has streamlined how our teams operate and communicate. More importantly, BriteCore’s approach keeps our people in control while helping us move faster, improve service, and make better decisions across the business.”

Villeneuve added, “Copilots are just the beginning.

“The future of insurance operations is an intelligent core platform where AI agents safely coordinate work across the enterprise—while insurers remain fully in control of the decisions, governance, and customer relationships.”
