Majesco: Agentic AI shapes the future of insurance

Majesco, an AI-native and cloud-native software provider for the insurance industry, has published its latest thought leadership report examining how insurers are approaching artificial intelligence as a core strategic priority.

The report, titled ‘Strategic Priorities 2026: The Frontier Insurer in the Intelligent Era of Insurance’, is based on primary research into insurer priorities for the year ahead.

It identifies a growing divide between insurer Leaders, Followers, and Laggards, with the most advanced organisations moving well beyond isolated AI experimentation towards broader business transformation built on intelligence, automation, and redesigned operating models underpinned by cloud and AI-native technology.

Among the key findings, the research highlights that AI has moved to the centre of enterprise strategy for leading insurers, with cost efficiency, customer experience, and AI capability all rising in tandem. More mature insurers are pulling ahead in analytics, generative AI, and agentic AI adoption, making execution a growing source of competitive differentiation.

Generative AI is advancing most rapidly in servicing, claims, and underwriting, while agentic AI is gaining traction as insurers look to coordinate workflows, automate tasks, and support decision-making at scale. The report also cautions that long-term AI value will depend on robust data maturity, governance, integration, and risk management rather than adoption enthusiasm alone.

The report argues that insurers facing rising operational costs, talent shortages, outdated technology, and profitability pressures stand to benefit significantly from AI and generative AI adoption. Efficiency gains generated across individual business tasks, including claims adjudication, underwriting, policy servicing, and fraud detection, are described as compounding across the enterprise, ultimately acting as a strategic multiplier that drives competitive advantage and long-term profitability.

Majesco is an AI-native and cloud-native software business serving the property and casualty and life and accident and health insurance sectors. The company offers a portfolio of core, underwriting, loss control, distribution, and digital solutions, and counts more than 350 insurers, reinsurers, and managing general agents among its clients. It reports more than 1,000 implementations to date.

Majesco chief strategy officer Denise Garth said, “AI is rapidly becoming the new divider between Leaders versus Followers and Laggards in insurance.

“Insurers leading are redesigning their operational model leveraging a cloud and AI-native core technology foundation that deeply integrates AI into the business and redefines them as a Frontier Insurer that achieves unprecedented agility and value creation faster than traditional companies. For an industry like insurance—data-intensive, regulated, highly competitive and often challenged financially—the stakes and opportunities are high, but the potential business value and outcomes are even greater.”
