Acrisure, a global FinTech leader, has unveiled Asero Insurance Services, a specialty managing general agency (MGA) that brings a number of its US programme administrators together under one banner.
The new entity, known as Asero, consolidates businesses already owned by Acrisure into a shared identity. Acrisure holds 13 MGAs in the US, which together write more than $1bn in premium. Six of these will carry the Asero name from launch, with additional businesses set to join the brand over time.
Every programme administrator sitting within Asero contributes niche underwriting knowledge, reinforced by the platform’s actuarial, technology, and data and analytics resources, giving the group the capacity to take on risks that are hard to place. Behind this sits Acrisure’s central enterprise infrastructure, spanning legal, regulatory, finance, accounting and HR support.
Asero’s underwriters hold delegated authority agreements with insurance carriers that are not affiliated with the group, allowing the MGA to underwrite and issue policies for those carriers. Distribution runs through independent retail agents, independent wholesalers and alternative channels.
The business targets small and medium-sized enterprises across categories such as commercial auto, logistics, commercial property, security and alarm contractors, artisan contractors, and snow and ice removal. Its product range covers property, casualty, workers compensation and specialty lines.
Acrisure chief underwriting officer Chris Bressette said, “Asero combines specialized underwriting expertise with deep data, analytics, and claims insight across a select group of businesses and categories. This framework allows us to draw on our shared expertise while preserving the specialization and trusted relationships that have always defined our teams.”
Acrisure head of underwriting and specialty retail Adrian Jones said, “Asero is the next step in unifying nearly 20 acquisitions into a single underwriting platform. Each program within Asero is run by a team of professionals with deep experience in a particular product or class of business. At Asero, underwriting comes first.”
