Allianz UK has widened the options available to British drivers with the debut of Slick Cover, a new digital-first motor insurance brand.
The venture has been structured as a managing general agent (MGA), a set-up that gives Allianz the ability to bring fresh digital offerings to market at speed. Remarkably, Slick Cover progressed from initial concept to writing its first motor policy in a little under six months, underlining the pace at which the project was delivered.
According to the insurer, the launch reflects a wider strategy at Allianz UK of harnessing modern technology to deliver innovative motor cover at a lower cost to consumers.
Drivers will be able to purchase Slick Cover directly through Slickcover.com as well as via price comparison sites. The product carries a Defaqto 5-star rating and has been built around a straightforward customer journey, with a simplified process for notifying claims.
Policyholders can pay using Apple Pay and Google Pay, while a digital wallet provides round-the-clock access to policy documents. A QR code function allows users to report claims and pass insurance details to other motorists where necessary, and a phone-based claims team remains on hand for those who need extra support.
