Akur8 launches rating accelerator for Guidewire users

Akur8, the global actuarial AI platform used by more than 3,000 actuaries across the property and casualty and life and annuity insurance markets, has launched a new accelerator on Guidewire Marketplace designed to link Guidewire PolicyCenter with Deploy, its modern external rating engine.

The Akur8 Deploy Rating Accelerator provides a metadata-driven mapping and transformation layer that sits between PolicyCenter and Deploy’s rating API, easing the custom integration work carriers would otherwise need to build themselves. Akur8 says the tool can shrink an integration process that traditionally takes months down to a matter of weeks, while allowing real-time rating to run inside PolicyCenter’s native quoting workflows.

The accelerator is also aimed at giving actuarial and pricing teams more autonomy once it is up and running. Rather than routing every rate change through IT or waiting for a PolicyCenter redeployment, actuaries can amend rating logic, roll out new rates and launch updated products directly within Akur8 Deploy. Akur8 says this lessens carriers’ dependence on policy administration system release schedules and lets them get pricing changes to market more quickly.

Among the accelerator’s features are pre-built mappings that speed up implementation, and real-time rating calls from PolicyCenter that return detailed rating factors and premium breakdowns without altering the standard Guidewire interface.

It supports both live, quote-time rating requests and offline batch re-rating. Akur8 has also built in standardised transformation logic, validation scripts and Guidewire-aligned delivery guidance to lower integration risk, alongside tools that give actuarial teams oversight of rating updates, testing and deployment.

The extension for Deploy is available immediately to both new and existing Akur8 customers and comes with support from the company’s dedicated delivery team.

Akur8’s Global Actuarial AI Platform serves 350 customers in more than 40 countries, spanning global P&C carriers such as AXA, Generali, Munich Re, Europ Assistance, Tokio Marine and MS&AD, commercial insurers including TMNAS, FCCI, NEXT, HDVI and Canal, and personal and commercial insurers such as Cypress, Madison Mutual, Western Reserve Group and Georgia Farm Bureau, as well as specialty insurer Canopius.

Samuel Falmagne, CEO, Akur8 said, “The Guidewire ecosystem is a critical pathway to market for P&C carriers, and this extension reflects our long-term commitment to meeting insurers where they already operate. Deploy was built to give actuarial teams greater autonomy over the rating process.

“By prebuilding the integration between Guidewire PolicyCenter and Deploy, we are making that autonomy accessible to a much broader set of carriers. This is about more than technical efficiency; it is about what pricing teams can achieve on their own, without depending on IT.”

Wade Mansoori, Head of Solution Delivery, Akur8 said, “External rating engine integrations have historically required months of custom middleware development, with actuarial, IT, and system integrator teams coordinating just to connect the rating engine with PolicyCenter.

“With this extension, that work is packaged into a repeatable, standards-aligned delivery framework. Carriers benefit from a tested mapping specification, validated QA scripts, and a sprint structure that aligns with Guidewire implementation standards. The result is a dramatically shorter path from contract to live rating.”
