Aviva is expanding its specialist Financial Institutions underwriting across the UK, giving regional brokers greater access to dedicated expertise and decision-making.
From August 2026, brokers across the Midlands & South, North of England and Scotland will be able to work directly with four Financial Institutions underwriters based across Aviva’s regional network. The insurer said the move will bring specialist technical knowledge closer to brokers and their clients while supporting faster underwriting decisions.
The expansion also includes five insurance products designed for Financial Institutions. The portfolio covers Directors’ & Officers, Fund Directors’ & Officers Liability, Investment Management Insurance, Professional Indemnity and Crime.
The products are aimed at FCA-regulated businesses, including investment managers, investment funds, building societies, mutuals and friendly societies, alongside other regulated financial services organisations.
Aviva said the regional expansion forms part of its wider plan to grow its Financial Institutions offering across the UK. The insurer is leveraging its regional Financial Lines underwriting teams and existing broker relationships to extend specialist capabilities beyond its London operation.
Alison Caine, head of Financial Lines & Cyber, UK Regions at Aviva, said, “As demand for specialist expertise grows, we’re expanding our Financial Institutions underwriting capability, bringing dedicated support and decision-making closer to brokers and clients.”
Caine added, “Backed by one of the largest regional Financial Lines underwriting teams in the market, as well as our established distribution network and broker relationships, we’re able to provide faster decisions, stronger technical support and tailored solutions for FCA-regulated businesses.”
She continued, “It’s the latest step in our investment in regional specialist underwriting and our ambition to grow our Financial Institutions proposition across the UK.”
The move strengthens Aviva’s regional Financial Institutions proposition as it seeks to provide specialist underwriting support closer to brokers and regulated financial services businesses outside London.
