Agero, a digital driver assistance provider operating through its recently acquired Urgently platform, and MOTER Technologies (MOTER), an InsurTech firm that converts connected vehicle data into real-time risk and claims insights, have entered into a new partnership.
The collaboration brings together Urgently’s digital roadside assistance platform, Agero’s nationwide service network and MOTER’s connected vehicle intelligence, claims visualisation and driver risk tools.
Under the arrangement, incidents detected through connected vehicles can automatically trigger digital roadside and accident assistance, while simultaneously generating a data-backed claims package. This is intended to speed up first notice of loss and claim triage, helping insurers move away from reactive claims handling towards a more proactive model that reduces friction, limits fraud exposure and improves the experience for policyholders.
MOTER’s platform digitally reconstructs accident events using connected vehicle data, aiming to give insurers clearer visibility into claims, faster resolution times and greater operational efficiency. The firm is also developing driver engagement tools that offer real-time coaching on risky driving behaviour.
Several features form part of the programme. A claims visualisation tool pulls data directly from connected vehicles to reconstruct accidents digitally, with an early trial involving a major personal auto carrier reportedly cutting claims cycle times by as much as three days.
MOTER’s DriveSage and RiskSage mobile apps score driving performance and deliver real-time feedback on risky behaviour, with RiskSage also drawing on in-vehicle dash cam integrations.
A “proactive crash-to-care” feature automatically launches digital assistance workflows, including accident support and roadside dispatch, once a crash is identified. The partnership also offers tailored options for connected and electric vehicle drivers, such as home EV charger coverage, OEM parts preferences for repairs and vehicle replacement benefits after total-loss events.
Agero supports around two-thirds of North America’s largest auto insurers, handling roughly 14 million roadside events and more than one million accidents annually across over 150 million vehicles.
Agero chief client officer, automotive, Harrison Russell said, “Today’s drivers increasingly expect more connected, transparent, and technology-enabled service experiences, while insurers and automakers are under pressure to improve efficiency and strengthen customer loyalty.
“By combining Urgently’s digital roadside assistance platform, Agero’s nationwide network and accident management expertise, and MOTER’s connected vehicle intelligence, we’re helping insurers and automakers accelerate claims response, improve visibility into vehicle incidents, and deliver more proactive support when drivers need it most.”
MOTER chief sales officer Adrian Thompson said, “When evaluating roadside assistance partners, we sought a provider with the technology, nationwide scale, and operational flexibility to support highly tailored embedded insurance and mobility programs.
“The combination of Urgently’s digital roadside assistance platform and Agero’s extensive service network, automotive expertise, and operational experience made them a strong fit for our long-term vision. Together, we can help insurers and automakers simplify claims operations, improve.”
