NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer, has chosen Bloomberg Buy-Side Solutions and the Clearwater Analytics platform to overhaul the way it runs its investment operations.
The insurer, which oversees roughly $32bn in assets spread across a diverse set of funds, will roll out both technologies together to simplify its multi-asset investment management model from front office to back office. Under the arrangement, Bloomberg will handle portfolio management, trading, pre-trade compliance and trade operations, including workflows that help NFU Mutual prepare for T+1 settlement. Clearwater will take responsibility for investment operations and investment accounting. The two providers will share the task of supporting the insurer’s regulatory reporting obligations.
The partnership between Bloomberg and Clearwater is designed to give NFU Mutual a composable operating model that is both flexible and joined up across the investment process. According to the companies, this setup is expected to make workflows more efficient, improve the consistency of data and transaction reporting, and shorten settlement cycles.
