InsurTech startup KindHealth nets $4m in funding

Texas-based health insurance platform KindHealth has bagged $4m in its latest funding round, which help it continue its growth during 2021.

KindHealth was co-founded by Albert Pomales, Andrew Tomasik, Mark Adams and John Constantine after seeing how tough it is for Americans to find quality and affordable health insurance. The app has helped thousands of Americans to get insurance, save on prescriptions and medical bills and receive smart recommendations on health insurance.

Its platform offers a full license insurance marketplace for health, dental, vision, prescription discounts and Medicare insurance policies. The AI-powered platform includes over 250 insurance carriers.

KindHealth co-founder and CEO Albert Pomales said, “After putting our heads together, we realized that we could create a way to help consumers save money on insurance and medical bills and avoid the risk of overpaying.”

The global InsurTech sector has been going from strength to strength. Last year, a record amount of investment capital was distributed to InsurTech companies around the world. Total funding reached $6.2bn, up from $6bn in 2019 and $1.7bn in 2016.
