Certua acquires insurance solution developer Surely

Data-based solution developer Certua has acquired cloud-based insurance software builder Surely Group for an undisclosed amount.

The deal has come shortly after Certua released its Enterprise Insurance platform last year. Users can quickly build dynamic and adaptable insurance products which let distributors easily ‘plug in’ via the API and tightly integrate into Certua’s state-of-the-art financial services platform.

This acquisition is expected to bolster the Certua distribution proposition following a spark in demand for distributors to use the insurance platform and provide end-to-end customer journey while enabling insurers and re-insurers to access previously unavailable distribution channels.

Founded in 2013, Surely offers a cloud-based insurance platform which works on all devices, including mobile, tablet, and mobile, and operates as a SaaS model. Its solution is designed to help insurers distribute their insurance products online, with clients including Allianz, Healix, Lloyds Bank, Talbot and Verisk

The multi-lingual and multi-currency solution allows an end-customer or broker to receive a quote for an insurance product, buy the policy and mange it online.

Certua CEO Tom Williams said, “The Surely team develop some of the highest standard enterprise-grade insurance solutions in the industry and the combination of their people, skills and platform with the Certua offering is hugely complementary. The combined unique suite of services enables us to offer genuinely differentiated propositions in alternative digital markets.

“Our joint capabilities bolster our current proposition and satisfy the high demand we have been seeing for integrated user journeys in addition to core administration and data science.”
