Coalition, the world’s first Active Insurance provider focused on mitigating digital risks, has announced the appointment of Tine Simonsen as its new head of insurance for continental Europe.
Simonsen will play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint across the European insurance market, according to InsurTech Insights.
Coalition specialises in offering innovative digital risk solutions that combine insurance with proactive technology and security insights.
Its Active Insurance model focuses on preventing cyber-related losses before they occur, helping businesses safeguard themselves against the rising threats of the digital age.
Simonsen brings nearly 14 years of experience in financial lines and cyber insurance. Prior to joining Coalition, she led the Nordic Financial Lines team at AIG, overseeing the region’s largest profit centre. Her career also includes a decade at Willis Towers Watson, where she held several senior roles, including cyber growth leader for Northern Europe.
In her new role, Simonsen will lead Coalition’s strategic expansion into the European market. Her deep knowledge of cyber insurance and risk management will be critical as the company strengthens its presence in the region.
With vast expertise in cyber underwriting and broking, coupled with her experience in leadership positions at major insurers, Simonsen is positioned as a key asset to Coalition’s European growth. She is recognised for her strategic understanding of the insurance landscape and her ability to drive growth across complex markets.
Kyle Bryant, Coalition’s head of international, said, “Throughout her years in specialised insurance, Tine has attained valuable insights into European market strategy, making her the best person to spearhead the expansion of Coalition’s Active Insurance across Europe.”
Simonsen expressed her enthusiasm about the new role, stating, “I’m truly inspired by Coalition’s mission to help protect the unprotected. Coalition is on a journey to change the cyber risk mitigation landscape by combining technology and security insights with insurance best practices. They are actively helping policyholders before they experience a loss, effectively ushering in a new era of cyber insurance.”
Bryant added, “It’s important to us to have someone centrally located with such a deep understanding of the insurance industry, and we’re thrilled that Tine has joined to help us expand upon our ability to protect the unprotected globally.”
