Marsh, the world’s largest insurance broker and risk advisor, and part of Marsh McLennan, has announced two significant leadership appointments.
Alistair Fraser will step into the newly created role of international corporate & commercial leader, effective 1 January 2025, while Alistair Brighton will succeed Fraser as CEO, corporate & commercial UK.
Marsh provides comprehensive insurance and risk advisory services to clients across a broad range of sectors globally.
Its operations are extensive, with a focus on helping businesses manage risks, develop resilience strategies, and safeguard long-term growth through innovative solutions and global expertise.
In his new role, Fraser will focus on developing Marsh’s services for small and mid-market clients across various international regions, including Asia, Europe, India, the Middle East and Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Pacific, and the UK.
Reporting directly to Marsh McLennan International CEO Flavio Piccolomini, Fraser will continue to operate out of Marsh’s London office.
Fraser brings over 25 years of experience to this role. Joining Marsh in 2007, he has since taken on leadership roles in multiple markets, including the UK, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Notably, Fraser led Marsh’s corporate business in the UK from 2018 and, more recently, took charge of Marsh Commercial in 2022.
Brighton, currently the UK sales leader, will take on the CEO role for corporate & commercial UK, also effective from 1 January 2025, pending regulatory approval.
Brighton’s new role will involve overseeing Marsh’s services to small and mid-market clients across the UK, a sector he has served since joining Marsh in 2004.
With more than 20 years of experience, Brighton has specialised in risk and insurance solutions for organisations in this segment, bringing extensive expertise to his new leadership position.
Marsh McLennan International CEO Flavio Piccolomini commented, “Small and mid-market clients currently face complex and increasingly interconnected risk exposures stemming from global volatility, including supply chain disruption, access to capital and cashflow, and talent retention. Alistair’s international experience and deep industry knowledge will be crucial as we work to enhance our services for our corporate & commercial clients across international markets.”
Chris Lay, CEO of Marsh McLennan UK, said, “Alistair Brighton’s leadership in the UK insurance market and commitment to client service and innovation make him a natural choice to lead UK corporate & commercial, as we continue to help our clients tackle the unique challenges they face and capitalise on future opportunities.”
