Bridge Specialty Group strengthens portfolio with acquisition of ARMR assets

Bridge Specialty Group, a subsidiary of Brown & Brown, has acquired the assets of American Risk Management Resources Network (ARMR), furthering its strategy to expand niche capabilities in environmental insurance.

The acquisition reflects Bridge Specialty Group’s commitment to enhancing its expertise and offerings in the specialty wholesale insurance market.

ARMR, known for its deep knowledge of environmental risks and tailored insurance placement solutions, will maintain its operations from Madison, Wisconsin. The company specialises in environmental casualty insurance, working with production partners across the United States. Under the new arrangement, ARMR will continue its operations with Kari Kohal serving as president. Kohal and ARMR’s founder, David Dybdahl, will report to Walter Grote, chief underwriting officer and central regional president of Bridge Specialty Group.

David Dybdahl will focus on product innovation and sharing his expertise in environmental risks through education and training initiatives. Commenting on the partnership, Dybdahl said, “We are very excited to become part of Bridge Specialty Group. ARMR and Bridge Specialty Group are aligned in our focus on customer service and our vision for the future. We believe Bridge is uniquely positioned to allow ARMR to bolster and expand upon the established value proposition we offer our retail insurance brokerage partners.”
