Nationwide and Kadance partner to offer genomics-based health support to life insurance policyholders

Nationwide, a leading US-based insurance and financial services provider, has announced a partnership with Kadance to deliver personalised, DNA-driven health support to life insurance customers.

The collaboration aims to offer Kadance’s Precision Health Management Program to eligible Nationwide policyholders, enhancing the value of their life insurance coverage by providing proactive, personalised healthcare solutions beyond traditional financial protection.

Kadance’s programme leverages genetic insights to empower individuals with a deeper understanding of their health risks and medication effectiveness.

The goal is to equip members and their healthcare providers with diagnostic tools that support more precise, informed, and effective medical decision-making. For Nationwide, this move reflects a commitment to delivering more comprehensive care and value to policyholders during critical health moments.

Kadance’s offering includes a suite of services such as DNA-based testing, including a pharmacogenomic test with pharmacist consultation, and a hereditary cancer risk test accompanied by genetic counselling.

The programme also supports patients diagnosed with cancer by providing access to oncology nurse navigation, expert case reviews, and clinical trial matching. Survivorship resources, including DNA-based recurrence monitoring, further extend the programme’s utility.

Eligible members of Nationwide—specifically those who hold life insurance policies through a LIBRA Insurance Partners brokerage general agency (BGA)—can now purchase the Kadance programme.

This partnership enhances the product portfolio available through LIBRA’s BGAs, who are focused on delivering innovative, high-value client solutions.

The initiative also reflects a broader shift in how insurance providers view their role in supporting policyholders’ wellbeing—not just financially, but also medically.

By integrating access to precision health tools, Nationwide and Kadance are enabling a more holistic and continuous model of care.

“Offering our eligible life insurance customers the opportunity to purchase Kadance’s program gives Nationwide a distinctive way to deliver extraordinary care to our policyholders during times they need it most,” Nationwide vice president – product, Chuck Bremer said.

“Our BGAs continually seek innovative solutions that provide significant value and create opportunities for client engagement,” LIBRA Insurance Partners president and CEO, Bill Shelow said. “Kadance’s Precision Health Management Program enhances our offerings and positions our agencies as leaders in delivering next-generation health management solutions.”

“Nationwide giving their customers the opportunity to purchase Kadance’s program marks a meaningful shift in how life insurance can support individuals beyond financial protection,” Kadance chief executive officer, Darren Rowe said. “Together, our organizations are aligning around a shared commitment to take care of members—not just at the point of claim, but throughout their health journey. By expanding access to precision medicine for those who purchase the program, especially services that are often unavailable or unaffordable through traditional health insurance, we’re helping to close gaps in care and bring personalised support to more people when they need it most.”
