Munich Re Automation Solutions, a global provider of digital underwriting solutions, has announced that Triglav, the leading insurance company based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, has deployed its new cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) underwriting platform, ALLFINANZ SPARK.

This latest product deployment is part of Triglav’s strategy to accelerate its digital transformation and deliver enhanced underwriting capabilities more quickly and cost-effectively.

By adopting the SaaS version of ALLFINANZ SPARK, Triglav aims to boost efficiency, streamline its processes, and respond more dynamically to market demands, all while maintaining best-in-class security standards.

Munich Re Automation Solutions delivers advanced InsurTech solutions that help insurers automate and optimise their life insurance underwriting processes.

The company has worked with Triglav since 2018 when the insurer initially implemented its on-premise solution. In addition to this technology partnership, Triglav also has a reinsurance relationship with Munich Re.

The new ALLFINANZ SPARK platform is designed to support agile underwriting with enhanced analytics capabilities.

It features a flexible rules engine that allows clients to customise underwriting rules to suit their unique business strategies. The platform also supports the integration of third-party data, enabling real-time decision-making at the point-of-sale (PoS) and more effective manual underwriting in the back office.

With the new SaaS deployment, Triglav will leverage ALLFINANZ SPARK’s Rulebook Designer tool to continue developing its underwriting rulebook and expand its intellectual property.

The platform’s customisation capabilities allow Triglav to tailor the solution to meet its evolving business needs and compliance requirements.

As part of its broader digital transformation strategy, Triglav is already incorporating advanced analytics across multiple initiatives to better understand customer behaviour, personalise offerings, and enhance business automation.

This transition to ALLFINANZ SPARK is a significant milestone in its effort to modernise operations and remain competitive in the fast-evolving insurance landscape.

Munich Re Automation Solutions chief commercial officer Alby van Wyk said, “We are delighted to extend our successful partnership with Triglav in the Slovenian market and wider Southern Europe region. By transitioning to ALLFINANZ SPARK, Triglav can immediately benefit from enhanced services, new analytics capabilities, and optimize corporate agility by quickly deploying new features to continually improve the consumer experience.

“In today’s rapidly changing insurance landscape the need to sharpen focus on the customer experience is paramount. By adopting of our best-in-class SaaS solution Triglav is future-proofing its underwriting offering as well as improving efficiency, driving sales, reducing costs, and better managing risk.”

Triglav executive director (life, accident and pension) Maja Benko said, “The mission of the Triglav Group is to create a safer future, which we are building through our partnership with Munich Re Automation Solutions. We will continue with the digital transformation of the Triglav Group, within which we are already implementing the use of advanced analytics in a number of key initiatives. In this way, we aim to improve the understanding of customer needs, create tailored and personalised offers, and optimise and automate business processes.”
