Arch Insurance North America, a prominent specialty insurer known for its innovative property and casualty solutions, has appointed Jeff Kaufmann as executive vice president, head of marine.
This newly created role marks the launch of Arch’s U.S. Marine business, effective July 7, according to InsurTech Insights.
The company specialises in underwriting complex risks across various specialty insurance lines, including property, casualty, and now marine coverage.
Arch’s expansion into the Marine insurance sector aims to offer tailored Ocean Marine and Inland Marine products to meet growing client demand.
Jeff Kaufmann is a seasoned industry veteran with 35 years of experience in Marine insurance. Before joining Arch, he served as EVP and head of marine at MSIG USA.
In his new role, Kaufmann will be based in New York and report directly to Valerie Turpin, chief underwriting officer for property.
His key responsibilities include building a specialised underwriting team and expanding Arch’s presence in the U.S. Marine market.
Kaufmann is widely recognised for his expertise in managing complex risks and developing innovative insurance solutions, encompassing both filed and non-filed policy forms. His extensive experience and industry relationships position him as a strategic asset for Arch’s growth ambitions in marine insurance.
Arch Insurance North America’s launch of the Marine division aligns with its broader strategy to grow specialty lines and respond to increasing market demand for comprehensive marine insurance solutions. The new unit will focus on providing tailored Ocean and Inland Marine products designed to meet evolving client needs.
