TBC Uzbekistan, a subsidiary of the London-listed TBC Bank Group, has unveiled a fully digital insurance product as part of its fast-growing financial ecosystem.

The company, which is positioning itself as Central Asia’s leading digital bank, continues to scale rapidly, with a suite of tech-enabled financial services and an expanding customer base across Uzbekistan, according to FF News.

The launch of the new insurance product forms part of TBC Uzbekistan’s wider strategy to deepen its ecosystem and broaden its digital offering.

The firm aims to enhance customer experience and financial empowerment by integrating additional services into its banking platform, driving stronger engagement and value for users.

As a digital banking leader in Uzbekistan, TBC Uzbekistan provides a comprehensive range of services including digital banking, lending, debit and credit cards, and now insurance.

With a user base that exceeds 50% of the national population, the company has seen significant growth, including a doubling of both revenue and its loan book in Q1 2025.

The newly launched digital insurance service is fully integrated into the TBC UZ mobile banking app and aims to simplify the insurance process for users in Uzbekistan.

The first phase of the launch covers credit life insurance, with plans to introduce a full suite of personal insurance products in the near future. The offering is designed to be seamless, fully digital and accessible, eliminating traditional friction points in the customer journey.

TBC Insurance, the company’s insurance arm, was soft launched in April 2025 after securing a life insurance licence from the National Agency of Perspective Projects of Uzbekistan in March. Since then, consumer response has been strong, with over 140,000 policies already issued.

TBC Insurance is led by Ekaterina Lotuashvili, an insurance veteran with 25 years’ experience in the UK and Georgia. Her background includes leadership roles at Lloyd’s of London, the world’s largest insurance marketplace, adding significant industry expertise to the business.

The launch of this new service is the latest in a string of product developments from TBC Uzbekistan, following previous releases such as the Salom debit card, Osmon credit card and SME banking solutions. These launches are creating a cohesive ecosystem that supports cross-product synergies and fosters greater customer retention.

TBC Uzbekistan CEO Nika Kurdiani said, “We see insurance as a natural extension of the TBC Uzbekistan ecosystem – a product that empowers customers to feel more secure and in control of their financial lives. With the launch of TBC Insurance, we’re continuing to thoughtfully expand our digital banking ecosystem, ensuring each new product complements the others and enhances the overall value we deliver to our customers. Insurance will be a key part of this journey, helping to deepen engagement and strengthen trust in the ecosystem.”
