The partnership is designed to deliver a broader, integrated proposition to businesses across financial services, retail and utilities, according to FF News.

By combining their capabilities, the companies aim to help partners embed insurance and additional services seamlessly into customer journeys, creating new revenue opportunities and enhancing customer engagement.

Mehrwerk focuses on delivering data-led value-added services, particularly in cashback and lifestyle protection. Its solutions enable businesses to monetise customer journeys and increase engagement through tailored offerings. The company leverages transaction data to provide real-time, personalised services aligned with consumer behaviour.

bolttech is a global InsurTech that enables businesses to embed insurance products into their digital ecosystems. Its platform supports insurers and distribution partners with technology that simplifies the delivery of insurance, helping companies integrate cover into existing products and services.

The joint proposition will allow partners to access insurance and cashback services in real time, using transaction data to tailor offerings. Mehrwerk’s network provides access to over 17 million households and more than 6 million active users annually, supporting scalable distribution.

The companies highlighted a strong opportunity within German retail banking, where embedded services and insurance can differentiate account offerings and drive subscription revenues. Research from bolttech indicates that more than 70% of German consumers are interested in bundled insurance and services within bank accounts, particularly offerings such as travel insurance, cyber protection, purchase protection and cashback.

Mehrwerk data suggests the model can significantly improve business outcomes, with customer satisfaction increasing by 450% and churn rates reduced by up to 75%, while generating an additional €50 per customer annually.

The collaboration will also focus on cross-selling complementary products to existing partners and acquiring new clients, with Germany as the initial market and plans for further international expansion.
