RGI adds agentic AI layer with D4Next acquisition

RGI, a Milan-based provider of core and digital technology for European insurers, has acquired Italian InsurTech D4Next as it seeks to expand the digital capabilities available to carriers without requiring them to replace their existing technology infrastructure.

The deal adds D4Next’s YOGA platform to RGI’s portfolio. The platform sits across an insurer’s existing technology environment, providing an intelligent layer for managing commercial propositions, distribution channels, business events and customer interactions.

YOGA enables insurers to configure commercial offers for different channels while keeping those propositions separate from the underlying insurance technology. This allows carriers to connect multiple core systems and distribution channels, while also introducing new services and workflows.

The platform supports a range of customer engagement models, including mobile, telephone and intermediary channels. It can also combine insurance products with non-insurance propositions, giving insurers greater flexibility in how they develop and distribute offerings.

Agentic AI is another component of the platform, with capabilities designed to support digital conversations across underwriting, claims and customer service.

YOGA is already integrated with RGI PASS Platform, providing an established connection between the two companies’ technologies. Following the acquisition, RGI plans to broaden the combined offering across its existing markets and pursue further opportunities in France, where D4Next has an established presence.

RGI has spent four decades developing technology for the insurance sector and serves hundreds of clients across dozens of EMEA countries. Its modular technology covers property and casualty, life and claims, supported by local teams operating within a broader European network.

D4Next was established in 2021 by Vito Rocca and Davide Scaravaggi. Christophe Quesne joined the company’s shareholder base in 2024 alongside the creation of its French entity.

The InsurTech now has more than 20 employees across Italy and France and has secured 16 clients during its first three years of operation.

RGI Group CEO Gianni Camisa said, “The future of insurance technology is not about choosing between core platforms and agility. It is about making the technology landscape work together to support faster business innovation. The acquisition of D4Next boosts RGI’s ability to help insurers evolve their technology progressively, combining our expertise in insurance platforms with new capabilities that can accelerate innovation across digital, products and distribution.”

D4Next CEO Davide Scaravaggi said, “Joining RGI marks an important step in D4Next’s growth. We share a common vision of how technology can help insurers accelerate business innovation.”

He added, “Becoming part of RGI gives us the opportunity to contribute to a broader proposition, combining our capabilities with RGI’s technology, insurance expertise and international presence.”
