Verisk expands AI tools for insurance underwriting

Verisk is broadening the availability of its insurance data through integrations with Amazon Quick and Microsoft Copilot, while adding new resources to its existing integration with Anthropic’s Claude.

The expanded integrations give eligible customers access to key underwriting and premium audit resources within their preferred AI environments. Amazon Quick and Microsoft Copilot users can draw on ISO Loss Costs and Premium Audit Advisory Service (PAAS) content, while Verisk’s Underwriting Intelligence offering on Claude now includes both resources.

Verisk has also launched a Verisk Benchmark connector for Claude, allowing users with the appropriate permissions to retrieve property-level hail and wind history. This gives insurance professionals another way to bring historical weather information into property risk assessments.

By making its data available through conversational AI tools, Verisk aims to help insurers find relevant information without switching between systems or conducting time-consuming manual research. The company said the integrations are intended to support faster decisions while helping teams focus more attention on policyholders.

The latest additions form part of Verisk’s wider strategy to make its insurance intelligence accessible across different AI platforms. Rather than requiring customers to adopt a single AI ecosystem, the company is extending access to the tools insurers choose to use in their own workflows.

Access remains subject to existing customer permissions, entitlements and governance requirements. These controls are designed to preserve oversight as insurers incorporate AI into underwriting and claims processes.

Verisk Underwriting Solutions president Saurabh Khemka said, “In an increasingly complex risk environment, underwriting and claims performance increasingly depends on precision, trusted intelligence and the responsible application of AI. AI is most valuable when it helps insurance professionals get relevant, reliable information when they need it. By making that information easier to access and apply, we’re helping insurance professionals work more efficiently while maintaining the rigor and confidence they need to act on that information.”

Verisk Claims Solutions president Steven Kauderer said, “AI is changing how insurance professionals work, and how they interact with and draw value from the information they rely on. Our focus is on helping clients navigate these changes, making the insurance knowledge they need more immediate and useful so they can better serve policyholders as the industry continues to evolve.”
