KwantSure tests embedded insurance in construction SaaS

Willis, the WTW-owned broking business, and its embedded insurance infrastructure partne Kayna have teamed up with construction workforce platform Kwant to launch KwantSure, a digital insurance programme integrated into Kwant’s workforce management platform.

The launch reflects the continued expansion of embedded insurance into vertical SaaS platforms, with distribution built around operational workflows rather than standalone insurance channels. Construction subcontractors must hold specified insurance to remain compliant on projects, and KwantSure embeds procurement into the same platform general contractors already use to manage workforce operations and track certificates of insurance (COI).

Subcontractors can request quotes and bind policies without leaving the system. Available coverages include General Liability, Professional Liability, Cyber, Business Owner’s Policy and pay-as-you-go Workers’ Compensation.

The programme combines three parts of the distribution value chain. Kwant provides the workforce and compliance platform, supporting 160,000 workers across the United States and giving contractors visibility into subcontractor insurance status through integrated COI tracking. Kayna supplies the embedded insurance infrastructure linking procurement to that workflow, drawing on digital trading capabilities from modern carriers. Willis contributes the broking layer, delivering tailored insurance solutions for subcontractors through its Affinity business.

For general contractors, the integration is intended to improve oversight of insurance compliance across projects, while subcontractors gain a more direct route to obtaining the cover required to work.

Kwant operates an AI-powered workforce operating system for construction and industrial sites, combining data from smart wearables with operational insights to deliver predictive analytics and automated alerts. The company said its platform has been deployed on major projects involving more than 160,000 workers, has tracked more than 45 million hours to date, and has reduced safety incidents by 50% while increasing productivity by 11%.

Kayna provides embedded insurance distribution technology for vertical SaaS platforms, connecting software providers with carriers, MGAs and brokers through a single integration. Agentic and MCP-native, its platform analyses policy detail against platform data, identifies coverage gaps and embeds insurance procurement within the software businesses already use to manage their operations.

Kwant CEO and co-founder Niran Shrestha said, “By combining Kwant’s project intelligence with Willis’ broking expertise and Kayna’s technology, we’re making insurance faster, simpler and more accessible for contractors. Contractors can secure coverage in minutes while staying compliant through proactive alerts and real-time monitoring. Together, we’re helping reduce risk across complex projects and laying the foundation for a broader suite of digital insurance solutions.”

Kayna CEO Paul Prendergast said, “Kwant is helping subcontractors to close the compliance gap and mitigate the risk of underinsurance in real time. This is how a vertical SaaS platform can elevate business practices, solve problems and provide real value for its customers.

“KwantSure provides a data-led, end-to-end insurance solution, designed specifically to support the needs of Kwant customers as they position their businesses for continuity and sustained growth. I’m delighted that our work together has resulted in such a powerful tool for a trusted platform that is driving change in construction, making it safer, smarter and more efficient.”
