MetLife Pet Insurance, a leading provider of pet insurance services, has announced its collaboration with the Association of Animal Welfare Advancement (AAWA).

The collaboration between MetLife Pet Insurance and AAWA is driven by the shared goal of assisting pet parents in confidently caring for their pets throughout their lives.

By joining forces, the two entities aim to address challenges related to access to veterinary care and recognise innovative animal welfare organisations through initiatives such as the Golden Beagle Award.

The link-up is motivated by the understanding of the crucial role animal welfare organisations play in providing care and comfort to abandoned, neglected, and abused animals.

Brian Jorgensen, Head of Pet Insurance at MetLife, expressed pride in partnering with AAWA, stating, “Animal welfare organisations play an essential role in providing care and comfort to every abandoned, neglected, and abused animal and AAWA has been a positive force in supporting these institutions. We are proud to be working with such a respected group to address the financial and physical challenges pet parents may experience when trying to obtain medical care. We believe pets are part of the family and are committed to ensuring that they can live full and healthy lives.”

In addition to content development, the partnership will see MetLife Pet Insurance sponsoring the Golden Beagle Award. This award aims to recognise an animal welfare organisation for its innovative approach to addressing the challenges of helping larger breed dogs find loving homes.

The recipient will receive $20,000 to support their work, highlighting the commitment of both MetLife Pet Insurance and AAWA to supporting pet welfare initiatives.

Jim Tedford, President and CEO of AAWA, added, “Access to care is a critical issue facing animal welfare organisations and pet parents alike. We are pleased to be working with MetLife Pet Insurance, a market leader, to identify potential obstacles to providing care for pets and spotlighting both potential solutions and actions being taken to address this issue.”

MetLife Pet Insurance offers comprehensive insurance coverage for pets, ensuring pet parents have peace of mind regarding their furry family members’ health and well-being. On the other hand, the Association of Animal Welfare Advancement (AAWA) is a distinguished organisation dedicated to championing, advancing, and unifying the animal welfare profession.
