Fortegra expands reach: New license enables operations across Belgium and EU

Fortegra Group, a global specialty insurer and part of Tiptre, has officially received clearance to extend its operations to Belgium and the European Union.

The newly established Fortegra Belgium Insurance Company, NV, based in Brussels, will focus on underwriting specialty lines of business. Meanwhile, Fortegra Europe Insurance Company in Malta will maintain its concentration on warranty products.

With its operations now set in Belgium, Fortegra is poised to harness strategic distribution channels within a dynamic market. The company’s European venture will enable partnerships with managing general agents (MGAs) who are specialists in their respective products and sectors. These collaborations will be marked by flexible deal structures, transparent partnerships, and a mutual sharing of risks.

Fortegra’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Rick Kahlbaugh, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. “The MGA space across Europe is vibrant and compelling and provides a tremendous growth opportunity. We are thrilled to receive this license, which will allow us to provide innovative solutions to partners across Europe.”

Fortegra’s product offerings are extensive, encompassing specialty insurance products such as property, casualty, and financial lines, in addition to warranty and consumer product solutions. The company prides itself on a team of seasoned professionals committed to delivering bespoke insurance solutions that ensure both peace of mind and financial security for their clients.
