Carbon Underwriting, a specialist independent managing general underwriter and Lloyd’s syndicate, has announced its entry into the international healthcare market with the appointment of Martin Leeks as head of international medical malpractice.

Carbon Underwriting, a specialist independent managing general underwriter and Lloyd’s syndicate, has announced its entry into the international healthcare market with the appointment of Martin Leeks as head of international medical malpractice.

The company, known for its innovative underwriting solutions and expertise in delegated authority portfolios, will focus its new international healthcare division on delegated portfolios in Australia, Canada, the UK, and Europe, underwriting on Lloyd’s paper.

Leeks, who joins Carbon with over 35 years of underwriting experience, brings a wealth of expertise in international casualty and medical malpractice.

Prior to joining Carbon, he held a senior position at Everest Group and has a proven track record of developing profitable portfolios. In his new role, Leeks will lead Carbon’s ambitious plans to deliver exceptional underwriting solutions in the healthcare sector.

Leeks’ arrival comes shortly after Carbon appointed Alex Poracchia as its chief financial officer, further strengthening its leadership team.
