Totalis Program Underwriters has introduced a new managing general agent, Spotlight Entertainment Insurance, to address the unique insurance needs of businesses supporting production companies in the entertainment sector.
The launch reflects Totalis’ broader strategy of expanding its reach into niche and underserved markets through specialist programmes. Spotlight will focus on providing bespoke insurance solutions to ancillary businesses operating behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, from set logistics to vendor services.
The new venture is not starting from scratch. It evolves from an existing programme that has been serving the entertainment sector for over two decades. With this foundation, Spotlight brings with it a wealth of underwriting experience, risk modelling, and product development insights. The division will be led by Alex Baiseri, vice president at Totalis, who will report to John Mahoney, senior vice president of operations.

Spotlight’s product offering includes property, general liability, inland marine, business auto, and umbrella liability coverages. These insurance products are tailored to match the operational realities of staged events, ensuring that policies align with the specific needs of each production and its associated service providers.
