Ominimo reaches $1.6bn valuation with AI motor insurance

Ominimo, a Budapest-based InsurTech using AI and advanced data analytics to transform motor insurance, has secured $22.5m in Series B funding at a $1.6bn valuation, according to Ventureburn.

The funding round represents a major increase from the $200m valuation reported during Ominimo’s Series A in 2025, placing the company among Europe’s fastest-growing InsurTech firms just two years after launch.

The company has achieved unicorn status while remaining profitable and now serves nearly one million customers across several European markets.

According to Ventureburn, the new capital will be used to support Ominimo’s plans to obtain an insurance licence, enhance its AI capabilities, expand its product offering and accelerate international growth. The company currently operates as a managing general agent (MGA), overseeing pricing, distribution and claims, while underwriting risk remains with partner carriers including Signal Iduna and DA Direkt.

Ominimo currently operates in Hungary, Poland, the Netherlands and Sweden, with plans to enter Belgium and Romania before expanding into Spain, Italy and France. The company is also targeting a US market launch by 2027.

Rather than relying on traditional risk factors, the company’s models analyse hundreds of data points to improve pricing accuracy and continuously learn from customer data.
